Step 2: Matching Process

Once you’ve been approved as an egg donor, we begin the process of matching you with intended parents. Factors such as physical characteristics, ethnic background, and medical history may influence the matching process to ensure compatibility and increase the chances of a successful donation.

Step 3: Ovarian Stimulation

Once matched, you’ll start the ovarian stimulation process. This involves hormone injections over a period of approximately 10-14 days to encourage your ovaries to produce multiple eggs. Throughout this process, you’ll have regular monitoring appointments to assess your response to the medications and ensure your safety and comfort.

Step 4: Egg Retrieval

When your follicles are mature and ready, the egg retrieval procedure is scheduled. This is a minor surgical procedure performed under sedation, where a thin needle is used to extract the mature eggs from your ovaries. The procedure typically takes about 20-30 minutes, and you can expect to rest for a few hours afterward before going home.

Step 5: Post-Retrieval Care

After the egg retrieval, you may experience mild cramping or discomfort, which can be managed with over-the-counter pain relievers. You’ll need someone to accompany you home and should plan to take it easy for the rest of the day. Our team will provide detailed post-retrieval care instructions and be available to address any concerns or questions you may have.

Step 6: Egg Fertilization and Embryo Transfer

Following the retrieval, the collected eggs are fertilized with sperm from the intended father or a sperm donor in our laboratory. The resulting embryos are cultured and monitored for several days until they reach the optimal stage for transfer. One or more embryos may be transferred into the uterus of the intended mother or surrogate, with the goal of achieving a successful pregnancy.

Step 7: Follow-Up and Support

After the embryo transfer, we provide ongoing support and monitoring to the intended parents and surrogate (if applicable) to maximize the chances of a successful pregnancy. You’ll also receive follow-up care to ensure your well-being and recovery after the donation process.
